The 31-year-old was previously with the New York Mets, who recently outrighted him, giving Atlanta the opportunity to pick him up. He did undergo Tommy John surgery in May, so he won’t be on the mound at the beginning of the season.

This won’t be Young’s first stint with the Braves. He was previously with the team in 2022, where his roster status was ever-changing.

Should he bounce back from Tommy John, hopefully Young will provide a solid arm to be used in the majors when needed.

The Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly agreed to a three-year, $30M deal with right-hander Cody Ponce. The deal is pending a physical and has not yet been announced by the team.
