WATERTOWN — Another Watertown High School senior and Watertown Post 17 player has decided to keep playing baseball in college.

Post 17 center fielder Markus Pitkin recently announced on his X account that he has committed to play baseball at North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, Iowa.

Pitkin helped Watertown Post 17 compile a combined 38-17 record in South Dakota High School Baseball and American Legion Baseball in 2025.

The right-handed hitter batted .300 with 13 doubles, eight triples, 47 runs scored and 38 runs batted in. He also compiled a 3.82 earned-run average in 11 innings as a relief pitcher.

NIACC is a member of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). The Trojans went 18-34 overall in 2024-25, including an 11-12 record in conference play.

Jackson McClemans, another WHS senior and Post 17 teammate of Pitkin, announced in October that he will play baseball for Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN.
