One of the biggest names across baseball who could be moved this offseason is veteran right-hander Feddy Peralta of the Milwaukee Brewers. The two-time All-Star was electric this past season for Milwaukee, helping them to clinch the best record in all of baseball.

But the Brewers fell short in the playoffs again, and now the evaluation of the roster has begun for the team. Some around the league believe that Milwaukee could look to part ways with Peralta this offseason, especially since he will be a free agent after the 2026 season.

The Brewers likely don’t want to pay what it will take to land him on the open market, so moving him now for some future assets could be the way to go. There has been some pushback on this idea, but Milwaukee has to make a decision on what to do with the ace going forward.

MLB insider Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic gave the latest update on the Peralta situation, giving some hints into a potential trade. It seems that Milwaukee may be more open to moving the ace than originally thought across the league.

“Perhaps this was inevitable, but the interest in right-hander Freddy Peralta is so significant, the Milwaukee Brewers are now considering “cracking the door open” for trade discussions, according to a person briefed on their situation.”

The veteran right-hander has been great for the Brewers, and the team could always keep him for another run at a potential World Series. While it remains to be seen what the Brewers will do with Peralta, the team has operated in this manner for some time now.

Peralta could be the next in line to be traded before the organization has to pay him, and he could be one of the better additions for any team this winter. Milwaukee could net a strong trade package for him, which could be the fuel needed to get a deal done this time around.

Freddy Peralta Traded Over to Philadelphia Phillies

If Peralta is traded this offseason, the Philadelphia Phillies could be one of the better landing spots for the veteran arm. Phialdelphia needs help in the starting rotation, especially with ace Zach Wheeler expected to miss part of the 2026 season due to injury.

Peralta could hold down the fort while he is out, and then the two would create one of the more lethal duos in the sport when he returns. The right-hander can be special on the mound, and Philadelphia desperately needs something to help it win a title.

In 33 starts for the Brewers this year, Peralta posted an ERA of 2.70, while striking out 204 batters over 176.2 innings of work. Adding this type of production to the Phillies’ starting rotation could help push them over the top, making him a perfect trade candidate for the team.

The Phillies have the ability to make a trade like this, and then they could give the right-hander the type of contract that he desires. Overall, the pairing makes a lot of sense, and he would bring a new energy into the Philadelphia clubhouse, which is badly needed for the year.
