MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (Kyodo) — Tomoyuki Sugano allowed five hits and two runs through six frames Wednesday for the Baltimore Orioles in an 8-4, 11-inning win over the Milwaukee Brewers.
The 35-year-old right-hander did not factor in the result for Baltimore, which snapped an eight-game losing streak after scoring four runs in the 11th, three of them on Adley Rutschman’s homer.
Making his 10th start in Major League Baseball, former Yomiuri Giants ace Sugano struck out three in another efficient outing.
He has allowed three or fewer runs in nine of his 10 starts, while earning four wins.
“As a team, we do have the ability to turn things around like this,” Sugano told MLB.com. “I feel like every time I start, that in some capacity, the guys rely on me.”
