As we get closer to the MLB Winter Meetings, the rumor mills are kicking into high gear and that includes new interest in a St. Louis Cardinals reliever. New reports indicate that JoJo Romero is one of the favored targets for the Seattle Mariners.

There’s a new update just shared today by MLB Trade Rumors. They say that St. Louis Cardinals reliever JoJo Romero is one of the preferred players the Seattle Mariners would like to acquire to fortify their bullpen. That is confirmed by a report from Adam Jude of The Seattle Times. This new report comes one day after the Seattle Mariners were also connected to interest in St. Louis Cardinals Brendan Donovan. At this point of the offseason, it would be unusual for a team to NOT be connected to Brendan Donovan as he is one of the most discussed possible trade candidates.

Here are some other news and notes from around the league: In one of Sonny Gray’s first interviews since being traded by the Cardinals to the Red Sox, ESPN reporting that Sonny said he is “happy to be in a place where it’s easy to hate the Yankees”. His first appearance this season at Yankee Stadium will be an entertaining one now.
