DETROIT — Two players who had been in the Detroit Tigers organization since 2019 have signed minor-league deals with new teams after reaching free agency.

Left-hander Andrew Magno, who was drafted out of Ohio State, has signed a minor-league deal with the Baltimore Orioles.

Infielder Carlos Mendoza, who signed as a free agent six years ago, has joined the Toronto Blue Jays on a minor-league deal.

Magno, 27, has been an outstanding performer for Double-A Erie over the last three seasons, although he struggled to carry that success over to Triple-A Toledo in 2024. He went 8-1 with a 2.31 ERA for the SeaWolves in 2025, striking out 76 in 66 1/3 innings.

Mendoza, who turns 26 this month, has also spent most of his Tigers tenure in Erie. In 2025, he drew 51 walks and struck out just 36 times in 350 plate appearances. A utility man who has played all around the diamond, Mendoza has only 15 games above Double-A, but he hit well in a short stint with the Mud Hens in 2025.
