Cuba’s participation in the 2026 World Baseball Classic is guaranteed, with final paperwork underway, per sources.

Pages didn’t play in the 2023 WBC, though Cuba managed a solid finish regardless. They finished fourth in the tournament after falling to the USA 14-2 in the semi-final placing below Mexico, who lost the other semi-final, in the tiebreaker. Cuba has never won a World Baseball Classic, having only made it to the final once in 2006 where they lost to Japan.
The 24-year-old outfielder is sure to be a boost to an already solid team, as he had a career year in 2025. Pages broke out after an average 2024 season, hitting 27 home runs and tallying 86 RBIs while keeping a .774 OPS through 156 games.
Pages also has a solid glove, posting a plus-7 fielding run value in 2025, which led the team.

Cuba received a difficult draw for pool play, and will need to play against Puerto Rico, Panama, Canada and Colombia before advancing to the knockout stages, where they’ll look to bring home their first WBC championship.
