The Los Angeles Dodgers have made it clear that they are looking to upgrade their outfield this offseason. Word is, they will be active during the Winter Meetings next week. Apparently, Teoscar Hernández has come up in potential trade talks, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. But how likely is it that Los Angeles pulls the trigger?

Could Dodgers OF Teoscar Hernández Be on the Trade Block?
Year in Review

Hernández had a down year both offensively and defensively in 2025. It appeared that the charismatic corner outfielder was hobbled for most of the year with injuries, and that might be the explanation. Whatever the case, Hernández’s outfield defense was subpar, especially for a team that prides itself on not giving other teams extra outs. The Dodgers were ranked 18th in defensive efficiency last year, and their right fielder was a large part of the reason why. Ideally, he is more suited to be a designated hitter, but that spot is taken by two-time defending National League MVP Shohei Ohtani. Hernández struggled with the bat as well. He hit for a .247 batting average, which is 15 points below his career figure. Hernández also hit 25 home runs, which is also below his normal range.

Prolific in the Postseason

In the recent history of the Dodgers, they have struggled to hit in clutch situations. However, Hernandez is incredible in October. He has hit eight postseason home runs in the last two years, which have resulted in back-to-back World Series championships for Los Angeles. Would they dare trade that production away?

Will They Make a Deal?

In addition, the Dodgers are already in the market for a corner outfielder. If they traded Hernández, they would be in the market for two. Los Angeles could swing that. They are known to be flexible and inventive. The Dodgers would be foolish not to listen to offers. But the bet would be that Teoscar Hernández remains with the Dodgers, at least for 2026.
