The Yankees finalized manager Aaron Boone’s (pictured) coaching staff on Thursday.
As the MLB offseason rolls along, the Yankees’ coaching staff has come into focus.
While there were no massive changes, the Yankees did tweak a few roles under manager Aaron Boone, who returns for his ninth season with the Bronx Bombers.
New York finished 94-68 for the second consecutive season in 2025 before falling to the AL East rival Blue Jays 3-1 in the best-of-five Division Series.

Yankees Promote Longtime Organizational Fixture
Among the most notable changes announced Thursday, Dan Fiorito was promoted to first base/infield/baserunning coach.
Also new to Boone’s staff are assistant pitching coach Desi Druschel, who returns after one season with the Mets in the same role, and Jake Hirst as assistant hitting coach.
The 35-year-old Fiorito is in his ninth season with the Yankees’ organization. He served as the minor league outfield/infield coordinator from 2024-25 and the organization’s roving infield/outfield instructor from 2022-23. Prior to that, Fiorito was a manager for three seasons in the minors: GCL Yankees East (2019), High-A Hudson Valley (2021) and Double-A Somerset (2022).
Entering his seventh season with the organization is Hirst, 30, who was the minor league hitting coordinator in 2025. He served as assistant minor league hitting coordinator in 2024 following multiple stops as a minor league hitting coach: GCL Yankees West (2019), High-A Hudson Valley (2021) and Double-A Somerset (2022-23).

Returning to Boone’s staff are bench coach Brad Ausmus, pitching coach Matt Blake, assistant pitching coach Preston Claiborne, hitting coach James Rowson, assistant hitting coach Casey Dykes, third base/outfield coach Luis Rojas, and major league field coordinator and director of catching Tanner Swanson.
Additionally, three coaches did not have their contracts renewed: Travis Chapman (first base), Mike Harkey (bullpen) and Pat Roessler (assistant hitting), whom general manager Brian Cashman has expressed an interest in keeping in another role.
