There will be a free catching clinic for younsters ages 8 to 18 today at Goodheart Field, hosted by the SAU Mulerider baseball program.
St. Louis Cardinal catcher Jamie Pogue will be the special guest. All local and area youths are invited to come out.
The SAU Muleeriders recently announced their full 2026 schedule. The schedule includes six home series including a non-conference series against Maryville University and four home midweek games. The Muleriders will look to improve on their mark from last year as head coach Justin Pettigrew enters his 10th season at the helm.
SAU will open their season at their fifth consecutive Dugan Invitational at Majestic Park in Hot Springs, with a slate of four games in three days. The Muleriders will open against Pittsburg State University on January 30 followed by a doubleheader first against Missouri Southern State then Southwest Baptist on January 31. The Muleriders will end the tournament against Fort Hays State on February 1st.
The first home action for the Muleriders will come as Maryville University makes the trip to Magnolia for a three-game series February 6-. SAU will then make the trip to Cleveland, Mississippi for a midweek game against Delta State (Feb. 10) followed by their first conference series of the season against Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee, Oklahoma (Feb. 13-14).
Southern Nazarene then comes to town (Feb. 20-21) for the first home conference series of the season in Magnolia followed by Arkansas Tech coming to town the next weekend (Feb. 27-28). After a short trip to Arkadelphia for a series with Ouachita Baptist (Mar. 6-7), the Muleriders return home for a weekend series against Northwestern Oklahoma State (Mar. 13-14). After a short road stint for a midweek against Henderson state in Arkadelphia (Mar. 17) and a trip to Weatherford, Oklahoma (Mar. 20-21) against Southwestern Oklahoma State, the Muleriders will start the first of two five-game homestands.
SAU will open the stand against Delta State for a midweek (Mar. 24) followed by a weekend series with Henderson State (Mar. 27-28) and ending with a midweek against UAM (Mar. 31). After the home stand, the Blue and Gold embark on a six-game road stretch with a trip to Searcy, Arkansas to play Harding (Apr. 2-3) followed by a trip to Ada, Oklahoma for a weekend series against East Central (Apr. 10-11). The Muleriders will then close their home slate with a midweek against Mississippi College (Apr. 14) followed by their final home conference series against Southeastern Oklahoma State (Apr. 17-18) and one final midweek game against Ouachita Baptist (Apr. 21). The final series of the season before beginning postseason play will be against UAM in Monticello, Arkansas on April 24-25.
