*PREDICTION*

After another poor finish to the season for the New York Yankees, there is a lot of pressure on the front office to make some big moves. New York has to figure out a way to get over the hump, and it has been a long time since this team won a World Series title.

The Yankees last won the World Series during the 2009 season, which is essentially an eternity for this historic franchise. New York needs to address the outfield positions this offseason, as well as the pitching staff.

General Manager Brian Cashman has a lot of eyes on him this winter, and if he can’t find the recipe for success soon, changes could be coming. But for now, he will try to put together the best possible team that he can for the 2026 MLB season.

Steven Kwan Sent Over to the New York Yankees

One name that could come across the radar for the Yankees this offseason is veteran outfielder Steven Kwan of the Cleveland Guardians. New York has been linked to Kwan for some time now, and this could be the perfect opportunity for them to shore things up by landing him in a deal.

The Guardians almost traded Kwan at the deadline this past summer, but the team held onto him for a potential playoff run.  While Cleveland did make the postseason, they could easily look to move Kwan now in the offseason, and it does make sense.

The trade value of Kwan is as high as it has ever been, and the Guardians could net some really strong assets for the future by moving him this offseason. The Yankees have plenty of strong prospects in the farm system that Cleveland could try to get, making the two sides potentially strong trade partners.

Kwan could fill a needed role for the Yankees, and New York could make sure that he didn’t land anywhere else. The 2025 season was another strong year for the veteran outfielder, and the Yankees could look to take full advantage of his prime.

In 156 games played for the Guardians, Kwan hit .272 with 11 home runs and 56 runs batted in. But he was also great on the basepaths for this team, stealing 21 bases for the season.

Kwan does many of the little things well on the baseball field, and his IQ is top-notch, which is something that the Yankees need from their players. New York has fallen victim to small things going wrong in the playoffs over the past few years, so Kwan could help fix some of these problems.

The veteran could help take the Yankees’ offense to the next level, and having someone who isn’t just trying to hit home runs could be good for the team. Kwan likes to simply put the ball in play and get on base, which is an area that New York has struggled with over time.

The outfielder would slide right into the Yankees’ lineup very easily, and this trade could make a ton of sense for both sides. Cleveland would land a nice trade package for Kwan, while New York extends its World Series window with a win-now type of move.
