*This is a prediction*
Teoscar Hernandez’s MLB career hadn’t always been smooth sailing. He had spent time on the Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays, and Seattle Mariners, before he signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2024 free agency.
In that season, he had a slash line of .272/.339/.501 with 33 home runs and 99 RBIs. With that production, Hernandez got a three-year extension from the Dodgers, and showed it was worth it still with a .247/.284/.454 slash line with 25 home runs and 89 RBIs, while providing a massive impact in their playoff run as well.
For as great as Teoscar Hernandez has played, he has started to pop up in trade discussions. For the Dodgers to trade Hernandez, it would have to take a massive deal, but as the Dodgers look to become three-peat champions, it could be possible as they look to structure their team to become a dynasty.
The team that can give the Dodgers the talent they need, while also looking to get a boost themselves from Teoscar Hernandez’s talents, is the Boston Red Sox.

Los Angeles Dodgers Trade Teoscar Hernandez to the Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox made strides last season to finish with a 89-73 record, but were eliminated early in the playoffs. With the 2026 MLB offseason underway, one thing that the Red Sox still need to address this season improving their offensive production, and with the increase in trade discussion surrounding Teoscar Hernandez, this would lead the Red Sox to the perfect solution.
The Red Sox had interest in adding Teoscar Hernandez back in 2024 when he was a free agent. Ultimately, though Hernandez signed with the Dodgers as he wanted to join a winning team. Hernandez could find himself in a spot where the Dodgers look to improve their defense to have a real shot at winning the World Series once again in 2026.
For as great as Teoscar Hernandez is on offense, his defense is a bit average, and at some points a liability, which could lead to Los Angeles looking for better options this offseason, as they have been linked already to looking to sign Cody Bellinger and Kyle Tucker. With this, it does make sense to trade Hernandez if they sign either player.
For Boston, they don’t need Teoscar Hernandez to play in the outfield, as they have a plethora of talent there already. What they could do instead is move Hernandez to the designated hitter slot in the lineup. This would allow Hernandez to just focus on his offense and provide an even bigger impact there for the Red Sox in 2026.
