The Nationals front office making a move, acquiring top-100 catching prospect Harry Ford from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for left-handed pitcher José A. Ferrer.
President of Baseball Operations Paul Toboni announced the move which also included getting right-handed pitcher Issac Lyon.
The 22-year-old Ford spent most of last season with the Mariners Triple-A Tacoma team, hitting .283 with 16 home runs, 18 doubles and 74 RBI in 97 games. In his first stint in the majors, Ford went 1-for-6 with one RBI, and one run scored.
The 12th overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft is currently the number 42 prospect according to MLBPipeline.com.
Ford appeared in the All-Star Futures game twice (2023, 2024) and has 52 home runs and 92 stolen bases in 454 minor league games.
Lyon was a 10th round 2025 MLB Draft pick, had 15 strikeouts in 12.1 innings pitched for Seattle’s Single-A team in Modesto.
