The Winter Meetings in the baseball offseason are here, and this could see a ton of action take place across the league. Multiple teams around baseball need help all over the place, and the free agent class this year seems to be one of the more well-rounded in recent memory.
One of the more interesting teams in the league this offseason is the New York Yankees, who are coming off another frustrating end to the season. New York needs help all over the place, but the team could really use another bat for the lineup to give them some consistency.
The Yankees could also look to sign some pitchers for the starting rotation and bullpen, but New York has continued to want to add power to the lineup. This team never placed star outfielder Juan Soto after he left last offseason, and we could see the Yankees look to do this during this offseason.
There is a lot of pressure on the Yankees’ front office to put together a team that can win the World Series, and things are getting a little testy from the fanbase. This historic franchise hasn’t won the title since the 2009 season, which is essentially an eternity for this organization and the fans.
General manager Brian Cashman has a lot of work to do this offseason, and he needs to get this right; otherwise, big changes could be coming. But how the Yankees choose to go about everything remains to be seen, and will determine a lot for this franchise moving forward.

This year with Toronto, Bichette hit .311 with 18 home runs and 94 runs batted in over 139 games played. Bichette turned things around this year following a down 2024 season, and it should see him get paid on the open market.
New York has the money needed to land Bichette, and playing for the Yankees could be enticing for the veteran. This Yankees team is all about going after championships, and adding Bichette to the mix could push them even closer to making it a reality.
