Arizona Diamondbacks star Ketel Marte is reportedly generating plenty of interest on the trade market.
According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Boston Red Sox are eyeing Marte while the Seattle Mariners, Pittsburgh Pirates, Tampa Bay Rays, Detroit Tigers and Toronto Blue Jays are also potential landing spots.
MLB Network’s Jon Morosi previously believed that there was “at least a 50/50 chance” that the Diamondbacks would choose to trade Marte during the offseason.
The three-time All-Star agreed to a six-year extension worth $116.5 million with Arizona in April, meaning that he’s signed through 2030 with a player option for the 2031 season.
Marte’s contract includes a five-team no-trade list, although he’ll earn full no-trade protection in April 2026 after recording 10 years of MLB service time as well as five consecutive years with the same team (via Spotrac).
If the Diamondbacks want to add more pitching help, they could decide to move Marte before he’ll be allowed to veto any trade.
It should be easy to find trade partners for the 32-year-old, as he remained impactful during the 2025 season. He hit .283 with 28 home runs, 28 doubles and 72 RBI while posting an impressive .893 OPS.
Marte has recorded at least 25 homers in each of the past three years.
Given the amount of teams that he’s been linked to, there could be a bidding war for the second baseman in the near future.
