The Somerset Patriots will take the field as the Somerset Semiquincentennials for four games during the 2026 season to mark America’s 250th birthday.

The New York Yankees Double-A affiliate announced the temporary rebrand for Independence Day weekend games on July 3, July 4 and July 5, plus an Aug. 15 matchup during the team’s annual Revolutionary Revelry Night.

Three of the four games will include postgame fireworks.

The name change honors the nation’s birthday while highlighting the Central New Jersey region’s Revolutionary War heritage.

“We’ve always taken great pride in being the Somerset Patriots in honor of the Revolutionary War history of the Central New Jersey area we call home,” Patriots President and General Manager Patrick McVerry said in a written statement.

“The celebration of America’s 250th birthday makes perfect sense for us to rebrand in a way that pays respect to this momentous occasion and gives our fans and community a fun way to participate,” McVerry said. “We can’t wait to take the field as the Somerset Semiquincentennials in 2026!”

Fooser Sports Design created the logos using Old Glory Red, Basic White and Old Glory Blue to match the exact color shades of the American flag. The primary logo features a bald eagle wearing a top hat in a circular design.

Three stars on the hat represent New Jersey as the third state, while 19 stars around the circle signify the 19 letters in Semiquincentennials. The eagle pays tribute to both the national symbol and the Yankees.

The white jerseys feature red and blue pinstripes with the Semiquincentennials wordmark across the chest. Blue sleeves include signatures from the Declaration of Independence in gold writing.

One sleeve displays a quill pen logo honoring the five New Jersey signers of the Declaration: Abraham Clark, John Hart, Francis Hopkinson, Richard Stockton and John Witherspoon.

Merchandise pre-orders launch Monday, Jan. 5, 2026. The team will announce additional details about the Semiquincentennials games as the season approaches.
