The Philadelphia Phillies are looking to spend this winter, and Kyle Schwarber is at the top of the list. Schwarber, one of the top free agents in 2025, has a strong market and should earn a big payday. However, are the Phillies in the driver’s seat to re-sign the All-Star designated hitter?
According to New York Post’s Jon Heyman on his Bleacher Report livestream, the Phillies are the “favorites” to sign Schwarber from MLB free agency. Schwarber has been in Philadelphia since 2022, and they have undoubtedly been the best years of his career.
In 2025, the 32-year-old superstar had his best career season, hitting 56 home runs and driving in 132 runs over 162 games. It was the first time that Schwarber had completed every single game in a campaign. It was a fantastic season that blew his previous career highs out of the water.
Schwarber has been linked to several teams, such as the Boston Red Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Baltimore Orioles, and New York Mets, but everything comes back to Philadelphia. Schwarber loves playing in Citizens Bank Park, and the Phillies want him back from free agency.
