This weekend, we saw the first report of a team making an actual offer to bring Kyle Schwarber into the fold. Granted, that offer came from the Pittsburgh Pirates, so it probably falls into the “we tried!” department. Still, we’ve seen reported interest from other teams like the Reds and Mets, with still others on the periphery, waiting to see what it’ll take to get him to sign.
Our question for today is simple: do you consider any team an actual threat to sign Schwarber, or is this merely a slog to wade through until he ultimately re-signs with Philadelphia? For some reason, it feels like the entire hitting free agent market is waiting until Schwarber signs to do anything, but that’s a question for another day. Are these teams waiting for him to sign before they move on? Is he really that popular with other teams? All good questions.
