RIVERTON, Ill. — A five-run rally in the bottom of the fifth helped propel Pittsfield to a 7-5 win over Williamsville in the Class 2A Riverton Regional semifinal game on Wednesday.
Williamsville had a 5-2 lead going into the bottom of the fifth.
Saukees catcher and leadoff hitter Luke Saxe went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Pittsfield right fielder Clayton Reinhardt went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, while first baseman Tim Hull went 1-for-2 with a walk and a double.
Saukees second baseman Kaden Ferguson went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs, while shortstop Hayden Gratton went 1-for-4 with a double, run, stolen base and two RBIs.
Bobby Harris got the start on the mound and went 4.2 innings with two strikeouts, while allowing six hits, one walk and four earned runs.
Ryan Harris pitched a third of an inning and got the win, while Draven Puterbaugh pitched two scoreless innings with two strikeouts to get the save.
Williamsville starting pitcher Collin Grosenheider was tagged with the loss after pitching 4.1 innings with two strikeouts, while allowing seven hits, three walks and seven earned runs.
Bullets first baseman Tristan Pickford went 2-for-4 with a home run, RBI and two runs, while shortstop Brayden Saling went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs.
Up next for Pittsfield (22-10) is the Class 2A Riverton Regional championship game against Pleasant Plains (29-7) at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
