MILWAUKEE — Brewers infielder Brice Turang will have a chance to shine on the world’s stage next year.
Turang will play second base for Team USA at the 2026 World Baseball Classic, team manager Mark DeRosa announced Tuesday. He joins a star-studded lineup featuring 2025 home runs leader Cal Raleigh, three-time AL MVP Aaron Judge and 2025 Cy Young Award-winner Paul Skenes.
Coming off of a Platinum Glove-winning season in 2024, Turang took things a step further in 2025 by slashing .288/.359/.435 with 18 home runs. He was a key part of a Brewers lineup that ended the regular season with baseball’s best record.
Turang will hope to help Team USA back to the heights of 2017, when the Americans won their first WBC title. Team USA reached the finals of the last tournament in 2023, but suffered a shock loss at the hands of Shohei Ohtani and Japan.
The World Baseball Classic begins on March 4, 2026. Team USA’s first game is set for 7 p.m. CT on March 8 in Houston against Brazil.
