The Reds had been among the teams interested in the 32-year-old free agent who was the National League MVP runner-up in 2025.
Cincinnati did make an offer to Schwarber that was for five years and $125 million, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.
Like the Reds, the Phillies also made a five-year offer to Schwarber, but Philadelphia’s proposed contract was for $150 million, Rosenthal said.
