The Los Angeles Dodgers have established themselves as one of the most aggressive teams in the league, and with Tarik Skubal trade rumors floating around, the Dodgers have been linked to him.

Baseball fans are already fed up with the Dodgers’ spending habits and consistent acquisition of star players. They have reportedly already agreed to a deal with Edwin Díaz this winter, and if they were to add Skubal, it would cause outrage among fans.

There is one specific report from KTLA-TV in Los Angeles‘ David Pingalore that noted that the Tigers and Dodgers essentially have a deal in place. No other outlet has reported this, and MLB insider Robert Murray revealed that the report is not real.

“You never know, they could be talking, but as far as a trade being close or done, how is this a thing?” Murray said on “The Baseball Insider: A FanSided MLB Podcast.” “That’s not real. I’m putting it to bed.”

Skubal being traded is possible, as the Detroit Tigers are reportedly listening to offers. He is a year away from free agency, and his next contract could make him the highest-paid pitcher in MLB history. The Tigers, historically, have not given out that kind of contract.

Not many teams are going to be able to afford Skubal, but the Dodgers are a team that could. It will take a phenomenal offer to get the Tigers to deal him, and as of right now, it does not look like the Dodgers have made such an offer.
