The MLB hot stove has been activated, and star players are already being dealt to new teams.
One day after the Los Angeles Dodgers landed closer Edwin Diaz, the Baltimore Orioles signed slugger Pete Alonso to a five-year, $155 million deal as big-name free agents continue to come off the board.
And that doesn’t even include two-time reigning Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal, who could be on the move himself ahead of the final year of his contract.
Four-time All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker is one of the premier free agents of this MLB offseason and will have several World Series contenders gunning for his signature.

Tucker, a longtime Houston Astros player and key member of the 2022 World Series-winning roster, spent last season with the Chicago Cubs before entering free agency.
According to prediction market platform Kalshi, the Toronto Blue Jays are the favorites to land Tucker ahead of the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, and New York Mets.
Kalshi traders give Toronto a 38 percent chance to sign Tucker and strengthen its roster that was inches away from winning the World Series but ultimately fell short in a Game 7 thriller to the Dodgers.

Tucker is one of the outstanding left-handed hitters in MLB and an above-average outfielder, making him a desirable asset for any team with World Series aspirations. He is expected to command a contract exceeding $400 million in value, a price tag only a handful of teams are willing to pay.
That crosses the majority of MLB teams off the list of potential suitors, leaving only big spenders like the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, and Blue Jays.
After Toronto, the Yankees have the highest percentage to land Tucker at 20 percent, according to Kalshi traders. The Dodgers (17 percent) and Mets (13 percent) follow, trailed by the Cubs (8 percent).

While Los Angeles is the clear premier destination for any free agent hoping to add a World Series ring (or several) to their collection, the Dodgers are reportedly reluctant to hand out yet another long-term contract worth hundreds of millions of dollars, given their current payroll.
Add in that Tucker, who is known to keep a low profile, may prefer a city with not as much pomp, which plays nicely into Toronto’s hands.
