Former Texas Rangers relief pitcher Hoby Milner will be wearing a different uniform in 2026.
According to multiple reports, the left-hander has agreed to a one-year deal with the Chicago Cubs. The Athletic’s Britt Ghiroli reports the deal will be worth $3.75 million, with incentives.
Milner, 34, had a 3.84 ERA last season for Texas and appeared in a team-leading 73 games.
The Rangers constructed a functional bullpen last season when they prioritized cost-effective strike-throwers and zone control over high-velocity arms and pure stuff in free agency.

Milner, a Fort Worth-raised and Austin-educated side-winder, came to the Rangers as an off-speed specialist who specialized in soft contact. Now, those talents now appear headed to the north side of the Windy City after one season in Arlington.
