After losing star slugger Pete Alonso to the Baltimore Orioles in free agency, the New York Mets paid homage to the longtime face of their franchise with a tribute video on Thursday:

Alonso spent all seven years of his major-league career with the Mets before agreeing to a five-year, $155 million deal with the Orioles on Wednesday.

The five-time All-Star capped his tenure in New York with a stellar 2025 season, producing 38 home runs and 126 RBI. The Orioles are hoping he will bring that same power as they try to bounce back from a 75-87 finish.
