The Rangers are just getting back from the Winter Meetings, but perhaps the biggest piece of news over the past week: newest Rangers outfielder Brandon Nimmo has purchased a pair of cowboy boots.
He’s officially a Texas Ranger now, and thus will be permitted to take the field on opening day in March.

Nimmo opened up in a recent social media post by the team account and showed a bit of the big personality Rangers fans have heard about since he was acquired from New York for Marcus Semien.

In the video, Nimmo says that he now owns a pair of cowboy boots, which he actually purchased at Globe Life Park, the Rangers’ home stadium.
“A nice pair of dress boots in case I ever need to go to a wedding or go to a nice event,” Nimmo explains with a smile. “I did buy a pair. I’m very proud of them. I guess I’m gonna have to get a few more pairs now.”
Nimmo also discussed his superstitions (he’s not super, just a little “stitious”), offered a fun fact about himself, and shared what he wanted to be when he grew up — which, coincidentally, the cowboy boots could now help him achieve.
