The Los Angeles Dodgers have won back-to-back World Series titles and they could be headed for a third consecutive title next season.

But before they can get there, they might make a few big moves. They’ve already added Edwin Diaz on a historic contract. Next, they could dive into the trade market to add the talent they need. But the team might trade from the big league roster to add more talent.

ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez reported this week that the Dodgers were open to trading starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow before next season.

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow

“Tyler Glasnow’s name has come up in conversations, and the Dodgers would not be opposed to moving him,” Gonzalez wrote. “He’s poised to make a combined $60 million over the next two years, with either a $30 million club option or a $21.6 million player option in 2028.

“But the quality of his stuff continues to tantalize executives throughout the industry, and there are certainly a fair share of teams that will bank on him staying healthy enough to make it worthwhile. Maybe he’s part of the package that brings Tarik Skubal to L.A. A longshot, perhaps, but wilder things have happened.”

Glasnow would only make sense as a trade chip if the Dodgers are adding a better pitcher. Considering the fact that there are a limited number of pitchers better than Glasnow, it seems like it would only make sense in a deal for Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal.

Glasnow could be the perfect headliner in a deal for Skubal, though it would take a lot more prospect capital to land him. Still, it doesn’t seem like a deal is imminent.
