Ahead of the 2026 season, the MLB named the top 100 prospects, including five members of the Cincinnati Reds’ organization: infielder Sal Stewart (31), catcher Alfredo Duno (48), shortstops Tyson Lewis (76) and Steele Hall (79), and pitcher Rhett Lowder (80).

Of these five players, only two have actually played for the Reds at the MLB level,

Stewart was a September call-up this past season, appearing 18 games for the team to end the season. In those games, he batted .255 and recorded five home runs and eight RBIs. He is likely to play a big role for Cincinnati next season as the team looks to make a second consecutive playoff appearance for the first time since 2013.

Lowder started six games for the Reds in 2024, recording a 1.17 ERA and not giving up a single home run in 30.2 innings pitched. The North Carolina native did not play a single MLB game last season due to numerous injuries, but he is likely to return in 2026 and look to make a big impact.

Duno has been in the minors since 2023 and is batting .287 with 27 home runs and 138 RBIs in three seasons. He was also selected to participate in the 2025 Futures Game, though he only logged one plate appearance and did not record a hit. The 19-year-old is currently playing at the Single-A level, and he is estimated to make it to the major leagues in 2028.

Another name to keep an eye on is Lewis, who is also in Single-A and has an ETA of 2028. Last season, the Nebraska native batted .268 and recorded three home runs, 19 RBIs, and eight stolen bases in Single-A.

As for Hall, Cincinnati just drafted him ninth overall in 2025, and he is estimated to be ready to make his MLB debut in 2029.

Earlier this year, Hall said that he models his game after All-Stars Mookie Betts and Dansby Swanson, though he also said he has been getting comparisons to Trea Turner, most likely due to his ability to run the bases at a high level (h/t Jesse Borek of MLB.com).

“I model my game after Mookie Betts, his swing. I love watching him swing,” Hall said. “And Dansby Swanson for his defense and how he carries himself. “I’ve always watched Trea Turner, but I’ve been hearing [the comparisons] from scouts too.”

The Reds just made the postseason for the first time 2020. Though they lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-0 in the NL Wild Card, it seems clear that they are on a positive trajectory, and their young prospects could become a big part of their success in the future.
