Right-handed reliever Chase Lee is joining the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Detroit Tigers traded Lee to the Blue Jays for left-handed reliever Johan Simon, according to multiple people with knowledge of the agreement. Simon hasn’t pitched above the Double-A level, but the 24-year-old isn’t ranked among the Blue Jays’ top-30 prospects on MLB Pipeline.

In 2025, Lee posted a 4.10 ERA with nine walks and 36 strikeouts across 37â…“ innings in 32 games. The Tigers acquired Lee from the Texas Rangers at the 2024 trade deadline in the Andrew Chafin trade.

The Tigers’ 40-man roster is now at 39 players.
