The Philadelphia Phillies made their first big move of the offseason on Tuesday, re-signing left-handed slugger Kyle Schwarber to a five-year contract worth $150 million.

Although Schwarber was the organization’s top priority, the Phillies still have many free agents available to re-sign, including catcher J.T. Realmuto.

The 34-year-old veteran has spent the last seven years of his career in Philadelphia after being traded by the Miami Marlins. Realmuto struggled in 2025, posting a .257 batting average, a .315 on-base percentage, a .700 OPS, 12 home runs and 52 RBIs across 134 games.

Although he may be past his physical prime, he continues to provide clubhouse leadership and stability behind the plate, making a reunion appealing to both sides.
