Greetings! I just came back from a trip to the year 2028, and I have returned with valuable knowledge: the 2028 New York Mets’ full Opening Day roster.
…Wait, you wanted to know if Tarik Skubal or Paul Skenes gets traded this offseason? They both go to the Yankees for Spencer Jones and Austin Wells. They still lose in the playoffs, though.
I have bad news for Mets fans: after yet another disappointing season, Steve Cohen gives up on building a Mets team capable of winning the World Series and sells the team via auction. After a cruel twist of fate, the Wilpons regain control of the team and go back to their usual Wilpon ways — they refuse to spend a single dime more than necessary on the roster, meaning no free agent signings or current player re-signings have been made: only players currently in the organization with team control through 2028 are on the roster.
So without further ado, here are your 2028 New York Mets!
