The Toronto Blue Jays haven’t yet closed the door on a Bo Bichette return for the 2026 season and beyond.

Despite the MLB offseason kicking off over a month ago, Bichette continues to weigh his options on the free-agent market. There has been interest from several other teams, including the LA Dodgers, New York Yankees, and Boston Red Sox, but the 27-year-old has yet to make his decision.

“He’s running through his process,” Shi Davidi said on the FAN Morning Show. “The Blue Jays are staying engaged there. Bo knows that there is a certain level of interest with the Blue Jays. Will that line up, or will that line up with Kyle Tucker instead?

“Bo’s camp feels that he’s independent of all the other free agents. It’s not like one is necessarily waiting for the other, in this case. Those processes just have continued to play out.”

For some time, it’s felt like this will come down to landing one or the other, as it’s rather unlikely to see ownership dish out money on both superstars. After all, the organization has already spent plenty of money this offseason, adding Dylan Cease, Cody Ponce, and, most recently, relief pitcher Tyler Rogers.

While the rumours on Tucker have cooled off since his visit to the Blue Jays’ facilities nearly two weeks ago, the interest from GM Ross Atkins and the rest of his staff seems to remain.

“The Blue Jays do have interest. There are a lot of teams monitoring this to see where the price lands, and if it lands into where their comfort zone is,” Davidi said of Tucker.

While players have been landing bigger deals than initially projected in free agency, Tucker is still believed to be seeking a deal worth roughly $400 million. Bichette, on the other hand, is expected to sign a deal closer to $200 million.
