FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Former Razorback right-hander Jaxon Wiggins, the Chicago Cubs’ No. 2 pitching prospect, will represent the team in the All-Star Futures Game.
Wiggins, who was selected by the Cubs in the second round (No. 68 overall) of the 2023 MLB Draft, has made 13 appearances (12 starts) combined this year between High-A affiliate South Bend Cubs and Double-A affiliate Knoxville Smokies. He owns a 2.09 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 60.1 innings of work on the mound.
The Futures Game will be played at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12 at Truist Park in Atlanta. It will be broadcast live on MLB Network and simulcast on MLB.TV, MLB.com and in the MLB App with Melanie Newman (play-by-play), Yonder Alonso (analyst), Jonathan Mayo (analyst) and Sande Charles (reporter) on the call.
