KANSAS CITY, Mo. — While the Kansas City Royals had an off day today before taking on the Minnesota Twins tomorrow, their top prospect, and MLB’s number 10-ranked prospect, had his third game at the AAA level for the Omaha Storm Chasers.
Jac Caglianone launched his first AAA home run 410 feet with an exit velocity of nearly 114 mph. It appears as though AAA pitching isn’t going to give the young slugger much more trouble than AA did.

In the top of the sixth inning, Cags worked himself into a 3-0 count before launching the ball over the right field fence. It’s his tenth homer in the Royals’ minor league system this season.

Caglianone was called up to AAA on Sunday, the 18th of May, and has wasted little time slugging in Omaha.
For Royals fans, it’s starting to feel like the clock is ticking as to when Caglianone will be in Kansas City at the big league level.
However, with the Royals’ bats struggling near the bottom of the league in terms of offensive efficiency, the same question remains: Will the pressure of being the ‘solution’ be too much for a 22-year-old hitter?

The Royals system is clearly prepping Caglianone for the big leagues, as he’s been making regular appearances in right field. The Royals desperately need a power hitter in the outfield, especially with Vinnie Pasquantino and Salvador Perez struggling as of late, but could Caglianone be the answer?
For now, Royals fans will have to wait and see if Cags can both keep up his good work in the minors and if his power will translate to the MLB.
