OMAHA, Neb. (WILX) – Michigan State baseball battled top-seeded Oregon but lost 4-2 in the Spartans’ final game of the season.
Sam Busch knocked in Ryan McKay on a sacrifice fly to give MSU a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but Oregon took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first and held on to it until MSU tied it at 2-2 in the top of the seventh. Oregon again countered with two runs in the bottom of the frame, taking a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh and winning by that score.
Michigan State finishes its season with a 28-27 record.
