From Philly to L.A.: The Deal BreakdownJordan Romano
Romano’s Tumultuous 2025 Season with the Phillies

Romano, 32, had a rough season with the Phillies in 2025. He posted an 8.23 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 47 strikeouts to 17 walks over 49 relief appearances (42 2/3 innings).

Romano landed on the 15-day injured list in August with a right middle finger inflammation, ending his season.

He struggled from his first appearance of the season, when he entered the game coughing up a two-run lead in the eighth inning on Opening Day, and then in his second game, the next day, he served up a two-run homer in the ninth inning.

The Phillies signed Romano in December of 2024 to a one-year, $8.5 million contract after he was one of the best relievers in baseball for a four-year span from 2020-23, spending his first six seasons with Toronto.

A Look Back at Romano’s Blue Jays All-Star Career

He posted a 2.90 ERA with 105 saves in 231 games with the Blue Jays and was a two-time American League All-Star.
