The Cincinnati Reds announced the newest members of its Hall of Fame class Tuesday, Dec. 16. Included among the four inductees is outfielder Reggie Sanders.

Sanders joins Brandon Phillips, Aaron Harang and Lou Piniella as members of the class of 2016. Sanders and Piniella were voted in by the Reds’ Hall of Fame Veterans Committee (for executives, managers as well as players whose careers ended more than 15 years ago).

A gifted outfielder, Sanders played for the Reds from 1991-98 where he collected 781 hits, 125 home runs 431 RBI and 158 stolen bases. Sanders continued playing the majors through 2007, retiring with career totals of 1,666 hits, 305 home runs, 983 RBI and 304 stolen bases.

He was named to his only All-Star Game in 1995 with the Reds when he hit .306 with 28 home runs, 99 RBI and 36 steals. He also finished sixth in MVP voting that season.

The class will be honored April 24-26, when the Detroit Tigers are in town.
