SACRAMENTO — The Angels continue to ride their fireball of an offense as they complete a four-game sweep of the A’s Thursday afternoon by a final score of 10-5 and extend their win streak to seven consecutive games, their longest win streak since 2022. It was a comeback win for Los Angeles as they were down 5-2 in the bottom half of the fifth, but Taylor Ward would come up huge for the Angels as he hit a 426-foot go-ahead grand slam in the seventh, his 14th of the season. The home run would elevate the Halo’s offense as they would score an additional four runs to close out the Athletics at Sutter Health Park.

With this sweep, it becomes the Angels’ second consecutive series sweep as they had previously swept the Dodgers over the weekend in three games. Over this stretch, their offense has produced an OPS of .946 and has hit 17 home runs. The Angels are truly on a heater and it’s not only because of the valiant effort of Ward’s bat. Logan O’Hoppe also hit his 14th long ball of the year, going 2-5 in today’s game, and Zach Neto was on a heater, hitting in the leadoff spot, going 3-5 and improving his batting average to .296.

Tyler Anderson was tagged early in this one as he had a final line score of 4.2 innings pitched, allowing five earned runs on seven hits while walking six batters. The bullpen had his back as Hunter Strickland, Reid Detmers, Ryan Zeferjahn, and Connor Brogdon threw five scoreless innings to complete the win on the pitching front.

With their current record of 24-25, the Halos moved into a tie with the Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers for an AL Wild Card spot. Los Angeles is set to return home Friday to begin a three-game weekend series against the Miami Marlins, then turn their sights to host the New York Yankees for three games before an off day on the 29th.Â
