CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Jhonkensy Noel was designated for assignment Wednesday by the Guardians, likely ending his time in Cleveland.
The team now has 7 days to trade Noel, release him or place him on waivers. He’s been removed from the team’s 40-man roster.
Noel, 24, showed flashes of power but hit just .193 in 2 seasons with the Guards.
Cleveland also traded cash to Toronto Wednesday for 28-year-old pitcher Justin Bruihl.
The lefthander pitched in 15 games for the Jays last season and has a career 4.72 ERA in 5 big-league seasons.
