The Toronto Blue Jays have traded left-handed pitcher Justin Bruihl to the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for cash considerations, the team announced on Wednesday.

Bruihl, 28, had recently been designated for assignment by Toronto after the club officially announced the signing of Tyler Rogers to a three-year deal on Monday.

The 6-foot-2 southpaw made 15 appearances for the Blue Jays last season, compiling a 5.27 earned run average, 1.902 WHIP and 18 strikeouts across 13.2 innings pitched.

A native of Petaluma, Calif., Bruihl signed a minor league deal with Toronto last winter, and would spend the 2025 season bouncing between Triple-A Buffalo and the big league club.

He was named to the Blue Jays’ American League Division Series roster for the best-of-five series against the New York Yankees in September. He surrender two earned runs over 0.1 innings after coming on in relief in Game 2.

In 89.2 innings pitched of the course of his five-year major league career, Bruihl carries a 2-2 record with a 4.72 ERA and a 1.372 WHIP in time split between the Los Angeles Dodgers, Colorado Rockies, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Blue Jays.

To make room for Bruihl on the 40-man roster, the Guardians have designated outfielder Jhonkensy Noel for assignment.
