The Astros, Pirates and Rays are “in serious discussions” on a big three-team trade, according to a report from Chandler Rome and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. If completed, the deal would send second baseman Brandon Lowe to Pittsburgh and right-hander Mike Burrows to Houston. Per Rosenthal, outfielder Jacob Melton and right-hander Anderson Brito would go to the Rays if the deal is finalized. Rosenthal adds that outfielder Jake Mangum and left-hander Mason Montgomery would go to the Pirates. It’s unclear if that’s the complete deal or if other pieces would be involved as well.
