PITTSBURGH (WTVA) — The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired former Mississippi State baseball star Jake Mangum in a three-team trade.

The trade involved the Pirates, Tampa Bay Rays and Houston Astros, ESPN reported on Friday.

Mangum made his professional debut with the Rays in 2025 as an outfielder.

He hit .296, with 120 hits, 40 RBI and stole 27 bases in 118 games in his rookie season.

The Flowood, Mississippi, native played at MSU from 2016-2019, where he became the Southeastern Conference’s all-time hits leader.
