The Orioles helped fill a starting pitcher hole on Friday that was created after the team parted ways with Grayson Rodriguez in November.Baltimore announced Friday it acquired starting right-hander Shane Baz from the Rays in exchange for several prospects and a pick.Baz made 31 starts for the Rays last season and went 10-12 with a 4.87 ERA. The 26-year-old has 54 starts under his belt across his entire career.The Orioles parted ways with prospects Caden Bodine, Slater de Brun, Michael Forret and Austin Overn, plus a Competitive Balance Round A pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.Each of the four prospects Baltimore parted ways with ranks inside the Orioles top-30 prospects according to MLB Pipeline. Three of the prospects are ranked No. 11 or better. The move continues a busy offseason for Baltimore, which has already acquired outfielder Taylor Ward from the Angels for Rodriguez, signed former All-Star closer Ryan Helsley and added power hitter Pete Alonso to the lineup.
