As the offseason continues to unfold, the Los Angeles Dodgers remain focused on finding ways to deepen an already star-studded roster. One name that continues to surface in league circles is free agent shortstop Bo Bichette, a proven middle-of-the-order bat who could help balance the Dodgers’ lineup and lessen the offensive burden placed on their top stars.
Bichette’s most recent appearance on the national stage came during the World Series, where he played a pivotal role for Toronto.

Wearing the Blue Jays’ signature baby blue, Bichette delivered one of the defining swings of the series, launching a go-ahead, three-run home run in Game 7 off Shohei Ohtani.
The blast helped swing momentum and showcased Bichette’s ability to rise to the occasion under the brightest lights. Despite dealing with a knee issue late in the season, he was able to return in time for the Fall Classic and perform at a high level.
Months later, Bichette remains one of the more intriguing names still available in free agency. According to MLB.com insider Mark Feinsand, the Dodgers are viewed by some around the league as a legitimate potential destination.
While Los Angeles already boasts significant star power, the front office has consistently emphasized the importance of lineup depth and flexibility, particularly as the roster continues to age in key areas.
The Dodgers’ infield, while accomplished, is among the oldest in baseball. Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, and Miguel Rojas are all in their mid-to-late 30s, and the organization has been mindful of managing workloads and preparing for inevitable wear and tear over a long season.

Adding a player like Bichette would not only inject youth into the group but also provide positional versatility and a significant offensive upgrade.
Although best known as a shortstop, Bichette has shown the ability to handle other infield positions, including second base. Defensively, he grades well, particularly when shifted off shortstop, and his presence would give the Dodgers more options depending on matchups and health.
From an offensive standpoint, Bichette would represent a clear step up over the current second base rotation of Tommy Edman and Miguel Rojas. His consistent contact skills, power to all fields, and ability to drive in runs would lengthen a lineup that already features multiple MVP-caliber players.
The primary obstacle in a potential Dodgers–Bichette pairing appears to be contract structure. Bichette is believed to be seeking a long-term deal, a type of commitment the Dodgers have been hesitant to make this winter as they prioritize financial flexibility.

However, if the market does not develop as expected and Bichette becomes open to a shorter-term contract with a high annual value, Los Angeles could emerge as an appealing option.
For Bichette, joining the Dodgers would offer a chance to compete for championships immediately while hitting in one of baseball’s most potent lineups. For Los Angeles, it would be a calculated move aimed at reinforcing the middle of the order and future-proofing an infield core that has logged plenty of miles.
While nothing appears imminent, the fit is logical enough to keep the Dodgers firmly in the conversation as Bichette’s free agency continues. If circumstances align, Los Angeles could add yet another impact bat to an already formidable roster.
