*PREDICTION*
With everything going on with the New York Yankees, it seems that veteran outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. could be on the trade block. New York is looking to make some big moves this offseason, and Chisholm Jr. could be a solid trade chip for this franchise.
However, Chisholm is slated for free agency after the 2026 season, so there’s only so much he can command in a trade. But if the Yankees could flip him for a starting pitcher, it could be well worth moving the former All-Star.
Chisholm Jr. hit .242 with 31 home runs and 80 runs batted in over 30 games played for the Yankees last season. His power numbers have improved with New York, and it could help his trade market this year.
The Yankees like Chisholm Jr., but they may not want to pay him what it could take to keep him around long-term once he hits free agency next year. This could see the team move on from the outfielder, and there are plenty of teams who could use his services going forward.
But whether New York actually looks to move on from Chisholm Jr. remains to be seen, even if it may benefit the franchise moving forward. The Yankees also want to compete in 2026, and having Chisholm Jr. on the roster does help them do just that.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Traded Over to Cincinnati Reds
If the Yankees do end up making Chisholm Jr. available via trade, the Cincinnati Reds could look to get involved in the sweepstakes. Cincinnati is looking for ways to improve the roster this offseason, and since this franchise doesn’t normally spend in free agency, additions via trade could make sense.
The outfield is a position that the Reds have to improve on this winter, and it hurt them at times last season. The Reds saw a rotation cast in the outfield in 2025, with only TJ Friedl being able to play in more than 110 games.
Cincinnati still made the postseason, even if it was short-lived, and now the franchise wants to improve on this success. The Reds aren’t likely to add a ton of payroll, if any, but bringing in an All-Star talent like Chisholm Jr. could push the team forward.
Due to his pure athleticism, Chisholm Jr. would fit right in with some of the other younger guys on the Reds roster, giving them more speed. Cincinnati has to take advantage of this young core that they have in place, and Chisholm Jr. could be a strong option to give them another veteran presence.
With manager Terry Francona in the mix right now, the Reds have to at least make some moves to improve the roster for next season. If they could swing a trade for Chisholm Jr., even on a one-year rental, it could give them a much better chance to win in 2026.
