Lee Jung-hoo (San Francisco Giants), who plays in the U.S. Major League Baseball, practiced sharing for children with disabilities ahead of Christmas.
The Purme Foundation announced on the 23rd that Lee Jung-hoo, a public relations ambassador for the foundation, donated 20 million won to a rehabilitation treatment project for children with disabilities. Lee Jung-hoo, who has donated 10 million won to children with disabilities at the Purme Foundation every Children’s Day, has been an ambassador for the Purme Foundation with his father, Lee Jong-beom, chairman of the Korea Professional Baseball Retired Players Association, since 2020. At the end of 2022, he donated the entire KBO MVP prize money and was also listed as the 38th member of the “Dummy Rocks,” a high-value donor group for the Purme Foundation. So far, the total amount of donations has been reported to be 125 million won.
Along with the donation, Lee Jung-hoo visited the Purme Foundation Nexon Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital and looked around the treatment room and had a meeting with children with disabilities. He personally signed autographs and cheered for children with various dreams, including sports players. In Paldo, where Lee Jung-hoo is modeled, he also donated 51 boxes of ramen to his disabled family earlier this month, following his sharing.
Lee Jung-hoo said, “It was a very happy time to see children smiling brightly despite difficult rehabilitation treatments,” adding, “I will continue to support children with disabilities to grow up healthy and move toward their dreams.”
Lee Won-il, director of Nexon Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital at Purme Foundation, said, “Thanks to Lee Jung-hoo, who practices sharing every year for children with disabilities, it has become a warmer end of the year. We will do our best to rehabilitate children with disabilities, thinking about Lee Jung-hoo’s heart that does not forget children while playing in the Major League.”
