Jackson Prep will be holding a baseball camp on Saturday, December 27th, hosted by two of its former stars that now both play for the Pittsburgh Pirates in Jake Mangum and Konnor Griffin.

The camp will be split into two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with both focusing on hitting and defense.

The camp is for players from second to eighth grade and will be limited to 75 spots per session. Each session costs $125 per person, with the morning session running from 9:30 AM-11:30 AM and the afternoon session running from 1:30 PM-4:00 PM. Registration will begin at 9:00 AM for the morning session and 1:00 PM for the afternoon session.

Mangum is a former Jackson Prep and Mississippi State baseball star, who was recently traded from the Tampa Bay Rays to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Mangum won multiple state championships during his time with the Patriot baseball program and became the SEC’s all-time hits leader during his time at Mississippi State.

Mangum was drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 MLB draft by the New York Mets and has also spent time with the Miami Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays, before being traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates this offseason.

Konnor Griffin was the ninth overall pick out of high school in the 2024 MLB Draft by the Pirates as just finished up a dominant first professional season, where he earned Minor League Player of the Year.

Griffin was also a multi-time state champion during his time at Jackson Prep and was signed to play collegiately at LSU, before being drafted in the first round.
