Lee Jung-hoo’s team, the front desk of the San Francisco Giants of the Major League Baseball (MLB), and the team will visit Korea early next year. The CEO, president, general manager, and director are expected to participate to confirm Lee Jung-hoo’s status.
The MLB Secretariat said on the 24th that “major figures and players of the San Francisco Giants will visit Korea on January 6-7 next year.” Along with Lee Jung-hoo, the head of the San Francisco club, including CEO Larry Bear, President Buster Posey, General Manager Jack Minashian, and Manager Tony Bytello, and Willie Adames, a key infield resource, will join the visit.
Major players from San Francisco will participate in various cultural programs such as traditional Korean play and visiting traditional markets on the 6th to experience Korean culture firsthand. Co-hosted by MLB and the San Francisco Giants on the 7th, they will have time to transfer technology and expand cultural exchanges with global markets through a baseball clinic for high school baseball players. The MLB Secretariat explained, “This schedule has great significance in strengthening the global branding of leagues and clubs along with expanding the participation of major league clubs in the Asian market.”
The San Francisco Giants are a traditional powerhouse with eight World Series wins since their inception in 1883, and have a global fan base based in San Francisco. MLB said, “This visit to Korea is also considered a symbolic move that goes beyond just promoting the club and shows respect for Korean baseball and culture and long-term exchange.”
