*PREDICTION*
The New York Yankees haven’t won the World Series since the 2009 season, and things have started to get a little testy around the organization. Despite the Yankees having MVP performances from star Aaron Judge pretty much every year, the team has continued to fall short in the playoffs.
This is for a multitude of reasons, but a lack of pitching all around the roster is one of them. New York has talent in its pitching staff, but it could use some more depth to bolster the club.
The teams that see the most success in the playoffs tend to have a lot of arms to throw out, and the Yankees’ front office should be looking for ways to implement this idea. New York has the money to spend, and we could see them make some big moves this winter to keep pace with the other elite teams across the league.
If the Yankees can’t find more success next season, there could be some big changes coming all around the organization. The pressure is on the front office this offseason, and they can’t afford to waste another year with this core.

Chris Bassitt Joins New York Yankees
As the front office searches for ways to add to this team, veteran right-hander Chris Bassitt could be a solid option for New York. Bassitt is coming off spending the last few years with the Toronto Blue Jays, and he has had a successful run of late.
The right-hander became very important to the Blue Jays this season, especially once the postseason came around. Bassiett transitioned over to a bullpen role for the Blue Jays during the playoffs, mainly because of an injury that kept him out of the lineup late in the season.
However, the veteran has been a very reliable and trusted piece to this roster, delivering for the team each time out on the mound. In the playoffs, Bassitt pitched 8.2 innings of work in the postseason, striking out 10 batters and only allowing one run during this stretch.
Interested teams will love his versatility out of the bullpen, especially since he has mainly been a starter throughout his career. Bassitt has made at least 30 starts in each of the last four seasons, showing some impressive durability.
With the Blue Jays this season, the veteran made 31 starts in 32 appearances. Bassitt posted an ERA of 3.96 and had a WHIP of 1.32 for the year, and this should help his overall free agent negotiations.
Putting him on the Yankees roster could allow manager Aaron Boone to have a lot of flexibility for the season, and Bassitt can give them more depth overall. While he isn’t an ace-level pitcher, Bassitt is a quality arm who can be a middle-of-the-pack, backend starter.
The Yankees’ need for depth all around makes them one of the strongest places for Bassitt to sign with this winter. New York just needs more talent across the board, and Bassitt could help make them even more formidable next season.
