The Boston Red Sox have been busy reshaping their roster this MLB offseason, though most of their activity has come through the trade market rather than free agency.

After returning to the postseason in 2025, the organization’s focus is on building a team capable of making a deeper run rather than settling for a brief appearance.

To that end, Boston has acquired several impact players, highlighted by right-hander Sonny Gray and first baseman Willson Contreras. Both veterans bring proven track records and should immediately strengthen a roster that will look noticeably different in 2026.

Fortunately, the Red Sox have a steady hand in manager Alex Cora, who has shown he can guide a young core through transition.
